3 states in one day

Departed Topeka IFR for Alliance, Nebraska. We had enough gas to land with our IFR reserves in Alliance but decided to amend our route and make a fuel stop at Grand Island, NE just to be safe. Considered going to Ogallala (Oogle-ogle-oggle? The name entertained us for a few minutes), NE but the center controller warned us about spiders in hotel rooms if we actually had to spend the night there. We opted out. Anyway, got some more actual IMC enroute, made it to Rapid City and landed with some lovely 30kt winds.

From there we took a look at the WX and re-filed a direct IFR route to Alliance. More 50kt headwinds enroute made for a long flight.

So we watched the sunset, gave a pirep, explored the wonders of the G1000 and tried to pass the time.

It's 12am and we just got to Alliance about an hour ago, and it's bedtime. The local 99s were still at the airport greeting everyone with pizza and cold water, which was really nice.

Race starts at noon tomorrow so we can depart anytime after that. Tonight we're just hoping to not catch bedbugs on our beds that are very similar in substance to a brick.
